I have a problem I would love to solve.
When I amend a shared Top Border in one web, Frontpage
makes this the default Top Border in all my webs stored
in different directories.
Any ideas??

That is how shared borders work, they apply to all pages in your web.

Your host would have to allow you to create subwebs, and then you could
convert folder to subwebs, then you can have different shared border and
navigation, as neither cross subwebs.

Yes, three. Either:

o Right each subfolder where you don't want the shared
border to apply, then choose Convert To Web from the
shortcut menu. (Warning: this has additional, far-
reaching implications.)

o Open each Web page that you don't want to display the
Top shared border, choose Shared Borders from the
Format menu, make sure Current Page is selected, then
clear the Top checkbox.

o Forget using a Top shared border. Instead, put the
shared content in a separate Web page. Then, within
each page that you want to display the shared content,
add an Include Page component that points to that
page.
