Hi,

i'm just about to publish my first website (cricket club) and I want to have
the pages with people contact details & phone numbers in a protected page. I
have seen the method of setting up a new subweb and protecting that (if
server extentions supported etc.) but is that the only way? it doesn't have
to be water tight but I just need to stop joe public making a nuisance of
himslef. is there an easy way?

Rob

Most other ways require use of server side code

Rob,
I have been fighting this problem for over a month on a part time basis and
just yesterday discovered this http://www.wbps.us/ It's called Webuild
Password Security. It is easy to use for a relatively small site and seems
to be quite secure. The cost is $20 (one time). You can download a free
trial which is what I am now using.
