I un-installed a DVD program from my Sony Vaio w/ Windows XP. when I did, I
lost all my mp3's, photo's and my website. the website files were saved on a
floppy. I've got the website, but when I open it in FrontPage 2002 there are
no navigation buttons. even when I try and create an empty web (no navigation
buttons on left). there is no way to connect the various pages.

In FP try running a Help - Detect & Repair

Even using File New Web
(and browsing to a folder on you PC or typing in a path like C:\MyWeb)
And then using View Folder List
You get nothing ?

Try Navigation page and re-add the pages back into the navigation structure.

what I meant when I said buttons (on left of page) was- links to my other web
pages. my site, which is published on ther web @ www.curciomusic.com has
links for bio, music, merchandise, discography & contact, as well as the home
page. but on my computer @ home, when I went to update it, I realized the
links on the left weren't showing in FrontPage. this is the program I used to
create & edit my website. can this be fixed?

Totally don't understand
Be explicit on "where" you don't see "what"

Sounds like now you are saying
You see a Text nav bar instead of a Button Nav bar in Page View (the html page) when you open your home page (or any other page) in
your FP Web (even though you have set your left shared border nav bar to graphics)
- you will not see Buttons for your nav bar on your pages Unless you apply a theme to all your pages and re-publish

what I'm saying is the navigation links (music, bio, contact) on the left
don't appear in FrontPage, but they appear in Internet Explorer. what do you
mean apply a theme? I don't know how to do that...

I still can't get FrontPage to show the links on the left side of page in any
veiw. my friend e-mailed me my site w/ the links all there. when I open it in
FrontPage, the links on the left (music, bio, contact, etc.) are not there.
please don't give up on me-
there must be an easy fix!

Have you opened a web in FrontPage, or just the page? If the links on
the left are in a shared border, they will NOT appear in FrontPage
unless you open the web first.
File->open Web (or Open Site in FP2003) and browse to wherever your
website is stored on your computer, or if the live web, type in the
URL in the form http://www.example.com

No.

Uninstalling unrelated programs will not affect the FP extensions in a
local web, and cannot affect the extensions on a remote server.

I still can't get FrontPage to show the links on the left side of
page in any
veiw. my friend e-mailed me my site w/ the links all there. when
I
open it in
FrontPage, the links on the left (music, bio, contact, etc.) are
not
there.
please don't give up on me-
there must be an easy fix!

:

Totally don't understand
Be explicit on "where" you don't see "what"

Sounds like now you are saying
You see a Text nav bar instead of a Button Nav bar in Page View
(the html page) when you open your home page (or any other page)
in
your FP Web (even though you have set your left shared border
nav
bar to graphics)
- you will not see Buttons for your nav bar on your pages Unless
you apply a theme to all your pages and re-publish

| what I meant when I said buttons (on left of page) was- links
to
my other web
| pages. my site, which is published on ther web @
www.curciomusic.com has
| links for bio, music, merchandise, discography & contact, as
well
as the home
| page. but on my computer @ home, when I went to update it, I
realized the
| links on the left weren't showing in FrontPage. this is the
program I used to
| create & edit my website. can this be fixed?

Stop asking vague questions and making vague statements about what you "can / can't see"
Be explicit on the steps you used to get to the problem

I see your 6 links (as text) on the left hand side of the page at http://www.curciomusic.com/ in IE

Your site has the FP 2000 SE according to http://www.curciomusic.com/_vti_inf.html
Open the site (not the page) in FP using File Open Site
(enter the url as http://www.curciomusic.com/ and log in)
If the site does not open or you only see a single page your host needs to repair or reinstall the FP SE

Open your home page in Page View (double click it in Folder List or Folder View)

Your navigation is in your left shared border page (_borders/left.htm)
- to see the _borders folder use Tools Site Settings Advanced - show hidden folders
Open the left.htm page in the _borders folders
- you will see the nav bar webbot code
(but not the actual nav bars until the shared border is applied to pages in your nav view)

You have applied a graphics format to the nav bar which will not show as graphics unless you apply a FP Theme to the Web Site - so
it will always display as text

Now Explain Explicitly What navigation you Don't see Where in FP

PS
Based on you other duplicate post (you should stay in 1 thread)

If you want that web to be on your PC in FP
- once you have it opened per my above post just use File Publish (or select the Remote web site view)
If you don't know how to Publish a web to your PC see Publish files and folders to a file system under
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA010782961033.aspx
