Can anyone tell me how to find and delete the
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Frontpage file. I was told to do
this to eliminat a lock-up at start problem with the
program. I have reloaded it several time with no success.
I am no computer expert. I am running XP Home. Any help
would be appreciated.

Ted:

Someone is asking you to delete the registry entries for FrontPage.

If you do not have experience working in the registry I would go back to
whoever told you to do that and have them walk you through it just to be
safe, but here are the steps:

1. Run regedit.exe
2. Browse under the HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE directory to the path you mentioned
3. Select the Folder and right click and choose Export and save the file
somewhere safe (just in case)
4. Hit the Del key.

Now that's out of the way, what type of lock-ups are you experiencing?
Deleting the registry keys is a valid troubleshooting step, but it should be
close to the LAST step to try.

The other recommended steps before touching the registry are:
1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
3) In Windows Explorer Find and delete the file CMDUI.PRF
4) Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins
5) Run a Repair / Reinstall on FP & IE
6) Install all Service Packs for your OS, IE, and MS Office

If you have deleted anything in your registry run a Repair / Reinstall on FP

Ted, try doing a Search on the file called HKCU on your C:
drive. Good luck!
