Frontpage 2000

Frontpage 2000 locks up as soon as it loads. I
reinstalled it several times with the same results. I
removed the old program before each installation. Still
have the same trouble. Am I missing something. Please
remember that I am no computer person when suggesting
answers. I looked at the Microsoft website with no
answers found. Any help would be appreciated.

There are three things that might cause this:

1. Corrupted meta data. Fix by deleting all .web files.
2. Corrupted Registry key. Fix by deleting
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\FrontPage.
3. Corrupted preference file. Fix by deleting cmdUI.prf.

I had the same problem and this fixed it:

Try deleting your cmdui.prf file and then trying it.

Do a Start | Find | Files or Folders and search for 'cmdui.prf' and
rename/delete it then try FP again.

at start trouble. I tried to find the files you mentioned
but they are not present on my system. Do have any other
suggestions.

The *.web files are hidden system files.
