I am new to building PC's in fact this is my first. The case I have purchased
has got 2 front USB ports and either connectors off those USB ports for
atachment to the motherboard. Well the frotn USB's state 2xground, 2xpower,
2xd- and 2xd+

The motherboard installation instructions shows to connect external USB's you
have a set up of pins on the motherboard that as well catering for 2 power and
2 ground it also has SBD6- SBD6+ SBD7- SBD7+ and that is just PER USB PORT!!!
Where shall I connect what as I dont seem to have enough wires for the USB on
the motherboard or is this incompatible in some way.

The problem I have got is that the USB wires from my cases 2 USB ports that are
attached at the front panel are different to the official way the USB's should
be wired correctly. Also I am confused about the way the pins are on the
motherbaord. It is an Aopen Kt 600 Motherbaord with two sets of pins one marked
USB1 and the other USB2 each set of pins has 9 pins. Why would you have two
pins for positive when its the same USB port?

two USB ports can be attached to the mobo. ignore one and pick USB1 or
USB2.
each should have 4 wires:
1 power (VCC)
1+
1+
1 earth.

match to mobo and away you go: your mobo manual explains this better than i
do...

Read the site I sent you and take your time. Some pin-outs on USB are
not standard so you will have to research the site

I think that one lot of pins will cater for both USB ports.
The power cable can go on any power pin, same with ground.
There should be a + and - for each port, so attach the + and - from one port
to the SBD6+ and SBD- respectively, then do the same for the second port,
except on the SBD7 pins.

have checked that website but doesnt mention different wiring types like the
case is. I'm not in doubt about what each USB pin does, just in doubt where
each wire goes too being a different colour to the standard USB set up.

Right, so what you are saying is then that each USB port set of pins can
actually cater for two USB ports, hence the two rows of pins...now its becoming
clearer!
