I will be taking over managing a web site created by Front Page. How do I
access the current site files and start modifing, posting the modifications
etc? Do i need to transfer the host information? If anyone could help it
would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have the user name and password for the site? if so, open FrontPage
and choose File, Open Site and put in the URL of the site (ex:
http://www.xyz.com) Enter the user name and password and the site will
open. You can either make your changes there (on the live site) or you can
publish the site down to your hard drive (File, Publish Web, C:\WebName OR,
if you're running Windows XP Pro with IIS installed)
http://localhost/webname. Then you'd work on the files by opening the web
on your hard drive, make the changes and then publish it back to the live
site.

Thanks David. I do have the UN/PW. I also have XP, what is ISS (pardon my
inexperience with this!)

IIS (Internet Information Server) is a web server that comes with Windows XP
Pro. It allows you to design and test your sites locally before publishing
them to your web host. By using a local web server you can test out all
features that require the FrontPage Extensions or server-side scripting. To
install it go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Windows Components.
