I just loaded Front Page 2003 onto my new Vista computer. My website opened
fine but as soon as I started making changes to some pages..particularly in
tables, FP crashed. Also, when I saved a page I got a message about not being
able to "parse" even though that page was saved and showed up on the actual
website. Any suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong? Thank you very
much. Betty

I'm using FrontPage 2003 on Vista Home Premium and it works just fine. Try
some of the "usual" fixes:

1) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all FP Temp Files
2) In Windows Explorer Find and delete all hidden *.web files
3) In Windows Explorer Find and delete the file CMDUI.PRF
4) Disable or Uninstall any FP Addins
5) Run a Repair / Reinstall on FP & IE

You can also get FP Cleaner at http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm
which will do most of this for you.

Vista does not support the FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions. It does
support the FrontPage client. That means you can run FrontPage but won't be
able to create any local webs using the server extensions. You can use them
remotely however as long as your web host supports them.

Microsoft is making a host of problems as many ISP's are discontinuing
server extensions, remarking that all FrontPage programs are discontinued by
Microsoft and are not supported by Microsoft therefore not by the ISP. In
some cases. And having run the Vista Upgrade advisor it blatantly states
FrontPage 2002 software will not run.

And if you use the FTP at this site it can't find the server.

Microsoft is not *making* problems by discontinuing support for FrontPage
server extensions. It is *solving* a host of problems that have been caused
as a result of FrontPage server extensions. FrontPage server extensions were
created at a time when the only server-side technology available to web
servers was CGI. This is simply no longer the case. There are dozens of
server-side technologies to choose from, including ASP and ASP.Net, both of
which are supported by FrontPage and by Expression Web.

The link you posted, a page hosted by a web hosting service, indicates that
you *can* use FTP to publish to your web site. I suggest you contact Insight
to resolve your FTP problem.
