Front Page Not Shutting Down

Anyone have a problem with front page not shutting down?

I have noticed that I can open front page (option set to open last
web) last web opens fine. Close out front page and open again and it
opens up to blank page 1.htm

Close Front page and check in task manager and listed in running tasks
is frontpg.exe. End the task, open front page again and all seems
fine. I close it and go back to task manager and as usual frontpg.exe
is still running.

We've had some reports that the latest version of JimCo Addins Spawn version 1.9.9 may be causing this. Disable it from the Tools |
Addins Menu, exit FP then do a control + alt + del | Processes tab | if frontpg.exe is still running select it and end process.

Restart FP

Spawn will certainly not cause this. This "we've have some reports" guise
that Webs Unlimited uses to attack the competition is disgraceful.

Webs Unlimited has a well-known history in the software industry of having
shady ethics. In addition, Webs Unlimited continues to display knowingly
dishonest information about Spawn.

They have been asked repeatedly to either remove the information or change
it so that it conveys truthful information about JIMCO's product. They have
consistently refused to do so and are now rejecting e-mail from JIMCO.

I realize that Webs Unlimited will likely respond to this message. I am not
interested in a public discussion with them and will not reply to their
responses. However, it is vital to JIMCO that I protect the intellectual
property of the company. I have attempted to do that privately with Webs
Unlimited over the past few months. They have refused to conduct themselves
in an ethical manner, so I will now refute the information on my own.

Of course we'll respond to these slanderous statements by Microsoft employee Jim Cheshire.

1. We have had reports regarding Spawn version 1.9.9 causing problems.
2. There are several posts in the various FrontPage NGs regarding problems with Spawn 1.9.9 the latest being
in the FrontPage Addins NG with a title of "Run time error with Spawn" dated 5/23/05 & 5:11pm.

Note: Jim makes the following statement unequivocally, "Spawn will certainly not cause this." Apparently he has not checked it out
as run-time errors may abend the UI of FP but leave the core exe running, i.e. frontpg.exe, i.e., it can cause this.

As for the link posted by Jim it out of date but was current at the time we compared the JimCo's Spawn utility to our product. We
will update it as soon as we have the time. JimCo has always been in a position of catch up with our tools. Jim also states, that he
has written to us about the above issue which we have not received as we do not accept any emails from Jim because of past problems
with him. So we see any email from Jim.

Jim has a history of making false accusations without any factual information to back up his claims. For some reason Jim Cheshire
has a vendetta against Webs Unlimited, Inc. yet with all his rhetoric we continue to be one of the top FrontPage addin products on
the market.

We continue to ask why Microsoft allows their employee to act in this manner.

Jim, your statements are slanderous to our company and disparage our products. We remind you that they are grounds for legal
action..

Why are you getting abusive? I've not been abusive to you. People normally do this when they've ran out of arguments and need a way
to save face.

As I responded in the Addins NG you chose to involve yourself in this and I've only responded to your weak arguments. If there is
blame to be placed about this being in the forum it is yours alone.

If anything was started it was by Jim Cheshire's (JimCo) over the top response, slander and product disparagement. Jim could have
simply responded that they have not heard of any problems. Instead he chose to accuse Webs Unlimited of all sorts of things. Why you
choose to get involved by flaming and being abusive only you can explain.

As I've said before it is apparent that you're attempting to save face at this point. You may have the last word if you like, I'll

Ok did not want to start a flame session, just needed a little help.

No add in's no extras loaded. Not a real power user but just get by.
