Front Page dependency on WinXP services

For obvious reasons, I have some services stopped (mostly
disabled or manual) in WinXP Pro.

I've started using Front Page as an HTML editor and
attempted to publish a site. Front Page is giving me an
error message, saying that

1) PF extensions not installed (they are, i've tested the
site from a different PC using FP2002)

2) Server not configured, etc...

Now, I know for a fact that the webserver I'm publishing
to is configured properly, tested it with other
computers. It seems that I may have some services
disabled that effect Front Pages interaction with other
systems.

Is anyone familiar with this? Any information would be
greatly appreciated. (short of enabling most services on
a trial and error bases, I'd like to pin point the actual
culprit)

Thanks in advance.

Can you open the web in FP - File Open Web and enter the URL
see your event viewer for any errors
