This question is asked all of the time and the answer is sometime
confusing.
1. Open FrontPage
2. Close any existing web you have loaded
- Not required
3. Click Open Web
4. Type in the location of the web you want to copy(e.g.,
http://www.mywebsite.net)
5. FP will "connect to the web" then give you a login dialog box. Enter your
username and password
6. FP will now open a file dialog box showing the contents of that web on
the server.
7. Choose one of the files (I usually pick the index file)
- Just click the Open button, no need to select a file.
8. Click Publish and then point this to a location on your computer.
This will probably only work on servers with FP Extensions.
- Requires that the server has the FP extensions.

through similar questions but am still confused. The answer appears to be
"If the remote server has the FP extensions, DO NOT use the import function, will allow you get all content." What does this mean, how do I open the site
in FP?
