Front audio not working properly

hi i have a ga-vm800pmc pentium 4 mother board and i was wondering why my
front audio doesnt work properly it seem conneted inside but the strappers on
pins 5 and 6 and 9 and 10 are still connected. The speakers work but the mic
doesnt. Is this the problem? Thanks Mr Grae

This does not seem like a software issue.
You may want to contact your system manufacturer or motherboard manufacturer
or both.

Check in Windows Master Volume (mixer) controls that the front mic jack is
enabled (not muted) and volume is set at a loud enough level. Additionally,
your sound card/chipset might have its own utility for enabling/disabling
the various connectors and speaker configuration.

The default view for the Windows Master Volume control doesn't usually show
all of the available level controls. Recording level controls may also be
separated from playback controls. See Properties to view/change all if the
available level settings.
