front audio cables

hi im just wondering if any one can help me,,,i have a guardian NZXT case and an old a7v400-mx i accidentaly pulled the front audio cables from the board and dont know how 2 reconnect them correctly.Main reason being that there are 6 individual wires instead of being 2 plugs as i am farmiliar with,,i hope ive explained this properly and any help would be greatly appreciated......thanks:bow:
 
You'll need to know the pin connections on the motherboard header, that information will be in the motherboard manual.

You could play an audio file, plug a pair of headphones in the front and try randomly connecting cables until you get sound coming in both ears. Same principle applies to the microphone.

However, there's a slight risk involved as there may be voltage present on one of the header pins and you may inadvertently short that voltage to motherboard zero volts, which could cause damage.

So, not really recommended but I've done it before, with success.

Of course, before you even start you have to identify the motherboard audio header.
