fronpage takes 4ever to upload: firewall or router problem?

FP takes forever to upload even the smallest of files with my dsl modem. If
I connect via dialup, the upload is actually faster. I notice the upload
stream is not constant when I use the dsl connection, whereas when I upload
via dialup, the little icon in the systray shows a constant stream. When
using dsl, it is as though it sends a few kb at a time and then stops for a
few seconds, as though the connection is dropping.

I have FP listed as an Exception in the firewall. I wonder if there is
something I am supposed to be checking in my linksys router?

From what I understand from our DSL guy when we got it hooked up....there
are different "account types". For instance, if we'd gotten a business
account, or upload time would have been far faster. This is one way they can
sell DSL less expensively. You might want to ask your DSL what the upload
speed is and ask your dialup, and compare.

Hope it helps!

No, upload speed is 250kb. When I first reformatted, I did not have this
problem. But now that I have set up the network between my desktop and
laptop, use a router, and installed sp2, I get this upload problem. It has
to be something on my end; I just don't know what.

What about any AV or 3rd party firewall software you may have running

Not using virus programs, as I open no attachments and explore no bad
websites. I understand my router has a built in firewall, but I have no idea
how to disable that or even if it can be disabled.
