Hi Granville,
This type of problem can happen if something installed on the machine is
redirecting network traffic elsewhere. For example, the Firewall Client
software for our ISA Server product is designed to redirect certain traffic
through an ISA Server to the Internet. This same type of software can
redirect traffic intended for your LAN to the Internet mistakenly. Other
possible causes could be firewall software running on the client machine
(preventing LAN traffic from getting to the LAN), or the client machine
pointing to a DNS IP address that belongs to your ISP instead of your
internal DNS.
If you have the Firewall Client installed, try uninstalling it. Remove any
personal firewall software from the client machine. Make sure the client
points to your internal DNS server (where the zone for your Active
Directory domain is) and not your ISP.
