So I have question about connecting my laptop to my lcd. I have a new Sony TZ laptop, and more options to connect the laptop to the Sharp Aquos HDTV than I previously had.
Serial(blue) to serial
Digital(white) to digital (this is what I did on my old laptop)
Serial to digital
Serial to Component
S-video to s-video
and I think I have a firewire port on my laptop, but not on my lcd .. I'll have to check, but if not, firewire to serial/digital/component/s-video adapter.

It's mainly to watch dvd's and play games on the bigger 37in lcd.

and thus House Of The White Rose inscribed ...
If it has DVI out on the laptop then use that.
Serial? You mean USB or what?

Sorry, old hangover. I mean the blue(usually) 15 pin.

That's not a serial connector - that's the good ol'
analog "VGA" connector.
