I have my Outlook 2003 opening a separate exchange mailbox.
When I press "reply" in teh other mailbox, the "from"
address is defaulting to that user's email, I wondered if
there was a way to default it to MY email address so that
replies come back to me.
Any info is greatly appreciated
Many organizations will not let you specify the From or Reply-To headers.
They want to make sure that if you are sending e-mails using the company's
resources then you do not forge who you are and you do not redirect any
replies to a mail server other than yours. If you are using your company's
resources for sending e-mails, you comply with their policies. The Exchange
admin can configure what From and Reply-To headers get used for an Exchange
mailbox, and it will override anything you specify in your local e-mail
client when using that mailbox. If you want different values for the
headers used by that Exchange mailbox, you'll have to discuss it with your
Exchange admin people. Be damn sure to have a convincing argument as to why
you need replies sent to an e-mail address other than the one from which you
issued your original message when using the company's resources, especially
if using those company's resources for your personal use.
