Please point me to basic info.to start transferring my CDs to a new
MP3 player.
A good Free program would be a bonus.

Thanks

A good place to start is the instruction leaflet that came with your mp3
player ..... :-;

This will convert your CD's to mp3's, its free and called AudioGrabber :

You'll also need the Lame Encoder (also free)

Jerry

Thanks Jerry,
The MP3 is a present for my Wife, it has yet to arrive,I am trying to
be prepared and will certainly read the instructions.
I have downloaded AudioGrabber, but am lost with Lame Encoder .
Where do I find this ?
Thanks again

From here :

http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/download.html

When you decrompress the file, put it in the same directory as AudioGrabber.
It'll recognise it - if it doesn't you can point it to the correct
directory.

Choose a minimum compression rate for your mp3's as 128 (CD quality).
Anything higher takes more space and the quality is debatable.

jerry
