friends can't see the videos that i e-mail them

I have done a video in movie maker and e-mailed it to my friends but when
they open it all they screen is the title and then it is just black - does
anybody know what i can suggest to them

Does the finished movie play ok on your machine?
What file type did you make for them?
What settings did you use?
What version of WMP do you have?
Are they viewing in WMP?
Which version do they have?
What was in the movie, as in stills? Video mixture, what file types were
these?

yes, it plays well on my machine, i sent a mvvm file, not sure which settings
i used and I have 2.1 and so are they

The MSWMM file is a Movie Maker project file and will not play in a media
player like a video.
You need to render the project into a WMV file to email to your friends by
clicking "Save to my Computer" or pressing CTRL+P to open the save movie
wizard.
When you get to the "Movie Setting" screen click the radio button next to
"Other settings:" then select one of the lower bitrate settings such as
"Video for Dial-up or Video for Broadband depending on yours and your
friends internet service.
Or you can simply click "send-in e-mail" and the movie will be rendered and
attached to an email.
