The use of proper punctuation helps us to understand.
AMDs are easy to fry.
CPU upgrades sound easy and they are IF you follow the
proper procedures. That means make sure the BIOS is
up-dated before you install the new CPU. Also, don't
install the new CPU on a motherboard you've over-clocked
unless you set it back to standard settings. If you burn it
up on an over-clock mobo, your warranty is probably gone.
Do you have THE mobo manual for your mobo? [Telling us what
mobo would help]

If they last that long. I fried one in half a sec by not having a heat sink on. Just
a little puff of smoke let me know it was all over.

Any never run an AMD CPU without the Heatsink and Fan connected! They can
fry in a couple of seconds.

Nothing new or unique to AMD on that score - I have a piece of
Pentium Toast with a cheap dead fan attached.
