fresh install with scsi.

my problem: while doing a new install of w2kpro all goes well until after 1st restart: the install process starts anew as if the first stage wasnt even completed, though it was because it recognizes formatting, file structure, etc.

i have a brand new Maxtor® Atlas™ V 7200RPM SCSI disk drive and am using an Adaptec AHA-2940UW Ultra Wide adapter (installed 3rd party drivers when prompted to do so) any help or at least a nudge in the right direction greatly appreciated.

Timing is important here -- during the install, take the CD out
before the machine reboots for the first time.

Or simply check your boot order in your system bios, and set
it to boot from SCSI before CDROM.

The SCSI driver must be loaded in a very early stage during
installation.
Shortly after the boot started from CD you see something like:
"hit F6 to load additional drivers".
If you do not hit F6 in that early stage, installation will
continue within a few seconds and aks you a similar question
later on, this is too late if you need a driver for your primary
harddisk as in your case.

i pressed F6 as soon as i setup starts, then i load the drivers when
prompted. but i'll try again. maybe im not as fast as i think.

If you're getting prompted for the third-party driver disk,
you're as fast as you think :)

agree, it takes while after you hit F6 before you get the prompt
for your drivers disk
