Frequent Lock-ups

Hi-
My pc frequently locks up after exiting Internet Explorer. If I attempt to
do anything immediately after exiting, it locks up and I have to reboot. If I
wait a few minutes, I don't have the problem. Another problem is after
browsing for a while, web pages stop loading, and I need to shut down
Explorer to fix the problem. Is it spyware? I'm using Explorer v 6.0 and
Windows 98.

I have the same problem and have been trying for weeks to find a solution.
I'm running WXP-Sp2 and have run Spy Sweeper. AdAware, SpyBot, etc many
times with nothing detected. IE has been a bit slower during this period but
functions fairly well. The problem occurs upon closing IE. It appears to
close, sending me to the desk top but then the curser hangs for 30 seconds
to 2 minutes then returns to normal use. During this hang time nothing on
the key board will work. Thanks in advance for any additional advice.
