For windows XP home edition I would like to convert all headings, toolbars,
instructions etc to French. I have investigated via help and support within
XP but without success. Can someone suggest an idiots guide to achieving
this?
Appreciate your help.

Windows XP is written in specific language versions, therefore one
cannot change it from one language version to another. You'll need
to purchase a "Full Version" of Windows XP in the language version
you desire, reformat your drive and install it "clean".

Or if you have an available empty drive or partition, you can install
another "Full Version" of Windows XP in a different language version
and create a dual-boot configuration.

A good third-party partitioning program is Partition Magic 8.

Thanks for prompt reply .. under help and support there is a section for
....."change the language for menus and dialog boxes". Is it not possible
then to change these?

Thanks,
Brian

Did you read the last point on that help and support page?
The one that states "This function is only available on Windowsin
Multilingual User Interface Pack. If you're interested in this product,
please ask the nearest M$ retailer".

And there was I thinking that there was probably a "free" download as there
was with previous Window OS's!!

Appreciate the replies. Thanks.

Brian
