Freezing

I just bought a HP Dual Processor PCm7170n Media center computer. I found MM
in the programs and have tried to download 8mm tapes of family events through
the analog ports of my computer. I use composite and hauppauge settings and
find I can see the preview but it will freeze up after a few seconds of
recording. Is there a manual or FAQ area where I can get proper instructions
on how to make this program work correctly. I have plenty of memory and HD
space, plus my computer is kept clean.
