Does anyone else have a problem with the MS spyware BETA
freezing up in the middle of the scan? My program
detects a trojan downloader and a couple of other things
then it totally freezes my whole computer up. I am using
Windows XP and it has done this everytime I try to do a
scan of my computer. Can anyone help?
.
Can't be of much help except to report that I am suffering
the same thing. I tried the scan twice. The first time, I
got a warning about low virtual memory, than almost
immediately after some other memory manager came up saying
I didn't have enough memory to continue, <abort, retry
fail>. I tried closing various things down without sucess
and eventually realized the computer was frozen solid for
all intents and purposes and had to do a cold reboot.
On the second try at a scan, I decided to turn off the real
time monitoring wondering if that was the memory hog. It
was also constantly giving off false warnings possibly
because I run with a considerably altered Host file. The
second scan did go on for a bit longer. I had task manager
up and watched the cpu peaking at 100% several times until
the system finally froze up again.
Will probably be uninstalling unless someone can think of
something that may be causing this and some way of fixing it.
