Freezing on the 'send to' option

When I Right click with my MX Laser mouse, if I try to use the 'send to'
option on the drop down box, the hour glass appears for a split second and
then the computer freezes. All the other options work ok. This is a pain when
trying to send pictures by email etc. The mouse has worked fine for 12 months
although I dont think it is the mouse!

Most probably this is not a hardware failure.
