freezing on playback

I made a music montage of my children last night. I've
saved the movie several times and each time I am playing
it back, it freezes. Not on the same image everytime but
freezes nonetheless. I don't understand why. It tells me
it's successfully saved but it doesn't work.
 
Is it the Windows Media Player that is freezing when you play the saved
movie? Did you save it as a DV-AVI file or a WMV one?
