Freezing/music sync issues. Have tried several things with no effe

I've been using WMM for about a month now.
When I first started it froze a lot so I switched all the file types I would
use from .avi to .wmv
Worked fine.
Then I found another problem.
When I had edited all the clips I wanted I replayed it in the timeline to
make sure I liked it and that the music I added was in sync with the clips.
However, after about twenty seconds the video would freeze but the music
would keep going for about six seconds and then freeze also.
To solve that problem I just move the little blue bar up to where I was
checking.
It'd work for about half hour, then freeze, but I was content with that.

But now when I do it with a different project, the music that I added is out
of sync with the clips I've added/edited and if I just replay it, it feezes.
So I am now unable to make sure the clips are in sync with the added music,
and correct it if it's not.
I've read through many threads about this type of problem, found the link to
the list of problem codecs, found and renamed two of those codecs so they
read .____ax as suggested.
It did not work.

I was wondering, could the type of music file I'm using affect this somehow?
I read somewhere that WMM doesn't work well with mp3's and that's what I've
been using.
Any imput and advice on the matter is very appreciated.
I'm afraid I'm not very good with computers.
(:

Also, I'm very sorry if this type of issue has already been adressed and
solved.
I searched and could not find one simular to this problem that had any other
suggestions than to swich the video file or rename/delete the problem codecs.

Thank you for your time!

There's no guarantee but the mp3s
could be the problem. Might be worth
a try to convert them to .wma or .wav.

I converted the music file to .wma and it works perfectly now!
The feezing and sync issues are gone and it works great.
Thank you so much!
