freezing and loss of memory

I have windows xp and it is constantly freezing up on me and it will show a box saying that it has low memory. I will have like 68% free space when I turn the computer on and then when I go on line it will go down to 4-5-6--7% free space and thats when everything happens
 
I have the same problem and haven't been able to get any answers. I deleted Servive PAck 1 and it helped but it still frezzes on occasion. Anyone have any ideas?
 
Do a SYstem Restore at a time before you start
experiencing the problem or CLick START, then RUN, type
MSCONFIG, go to startup tab then uncheck any program files
that you dont need at startup
