Freezing and beeping

I own a Dell Dimension 4600 purchased in 3/04. I use Windows XP Pro. I use
this machine constantly and in the last few days am experiencing a freezing
problem. When I go to restart, it restarts but does not start up properly
so that the desktop shows but the hourglass constantly goes. Last night it
started in with long beeps. I do find I can restore to an earlier time using
a GoBack program but then in a couple of days, the same thing happens again.
New computer? Or???? I need to solve my problem quickly!

The beeping is an audible code from your motherboard telling you that
something is wrong. Call Dell tech support to find out what the beeps
mean. We can't answer the question as to whether you should buy a new
computer without knowing which component is failing. If it is simply
overheating because the machine has never been cleaned out, a can or two
of compressed air will cost you under $10 USD. If the motherboard is
failing, then it would not be cost-effective to replace it. Take a look
