Is there a way to "freeze" the slide show presentation on a slide to make
changes to another slide or existing slide. I have setup the dual monitor
support using XP Pro and by clicking on another slide we can make changes to
that slide, but if we make changes to the current slide it is seen on the
external screen. Is there a way to "Freeze" the current slide and then
"Un-Freeze" it after the changes have been made

Why not ...
.... insert duplicate slide
.... change the inserted copy
.... restart the show (advances to changed slide)
.... pause it again
.... delete old slide
.... restart again?

All the video projectors I have seen have a 'Freeze'
function.

Even with out dual monitors you can therefore pause the
show by freezing the screen which shows the current slide.
You can then edit or create a new slide, restart the show,
unfreeze the projector image which will show the new
version
