We have a DELL 4400 box, that is running windows 2k server
and Exchange 2k Enterprise Server both with SP3, after we
install a new scsi discs on the server to move the
mailboxes the server is freezing suddenly with out
reason, if we go the to server the screen is freeze, we
cannot move the mouse pointer or even try to log in to the
server. We update the SCSI Card controller drivers and
even we are thinking to replace the complete mother board.
The exchange seems to be working fine, there is no error
on the logs so I don't know what else could be, hope you
can help me or even if you have experienced a problem like
this please any idea will be helpfull.

Hi Oscar,

Make sure that the firmware on your SCSI controllers is up to the level it
needs to be for the corresponding drivers that you've loaded. Also, try
looking through your event logs for possible event ID 9s, 11s, 50s, or 51s.
This would indicate a possible hardware error. It sounds like the
underlying services are working fine. If your reboot the server or try and
login via Terminal Services does everything appear to be working fine?

When the server freezes we can't access by Terminal
Services either.

On the logs there are events with the numbers that you
told me but nothing related with hardware malfunctions.
I´m seeing that in the System Log, I can see an event ID
6008, The previous system shutdown at 2:22:07 am on date.

Any idea?
