freezes

While my students are working on there project it will freeze up and we have
to end the task. My computer technician states it is not space or anything
else issue. What can be causing it to freez up?

I get this a lot as well, and have no explanation for it other than
that Movie Maker is flaky. If working with a long movie made up of
lots of clips, trying to navigate between clips rapidly will sometimes
cause the application to hang. My PC is in pretty good shape and has
loads of HDD space, RAM, processor power etc, so it's not a hardware
issue.
 
check my website's Problem Solving > Crashes and Hangs page.... if it's
v2.1, you probably can resolve it by unchecking one or two codecs
