Ok, I checked both of my hard drives and there good to
go. My Vid. card ATI 9800 has it's latest drivers and so
dose my sound card, Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer. But for
some unknown reason, only when I play games in single or
mutiplayer mode. My screen will freeze up and I'll get an
ear percing noise from my speakers. Can some one help me
with this issue?

Greg.

sound card buffer (space in ram) is possibly "looping".
if you have another sound card..try changing it first
and see what happens. try changing directx, audigy,
or to software from hardware support in sound card
properties in the game (game options). also if using
an amd processor...make sure there are no issues
with audigy sound card (if there are...check for
latest drivers for sound card and motherboard).

also if using a microphone with game then it's
not getting feedback (but not likely do any lockup
for display...just seems odd a high pitch sound).

latest dx9c is a must, as is the later ATI video
card drivers (which if video card itself locks
up the new drivers will drop into video software
mode (slower) but at least desktop will work).

let us know, thanks.
