freeze trying to play audio

Any advice?

XP Pro freezes when it's trying to read audio, from either of two CD drives I have. This can happen when trying to play a regular CD, or when playing a game and the game calls for audio off the CD. I updated to DirectX 9b, but don't know what else might help- I assume re-installing drivers, but which? The sound card is some Turtle Beach card, don't know which one.
 
Your soundcard may not be supported. Check Microsoft an find out if XP Supports it. Download the latest drivers for the card if it is supported
