Freeze tiles function has error

I have a new PC that I installed MS Works onto so I could continue using it
to keep track of my online investing.
On my old PC, when I wanted to freeze any rows, I selected the row below and
froze the tiles. Everything above remained static, even when I closed and
then reopened the file.
With this newer MS Works 7.0, I freeze the top two rows that are showing in
the window, rows 245 and 246, close the window, reopen, and rows 1 and 2
are frozen, not the ones I selected before. If I select three or four or
five rows to freeze, then rows 1-2-3 or 1-2-3-4 or 1-2-3-4-5 are frozen.
What is going on?
Sincerely,

Thanks for the ideas everyone, but even MS can't make it work right. They
just suggested I spend more money and upgrade to full Excel. Thanks MS, for
making another faulty product and not resolving the issue.

If you want something more powerful than Works but don't want to buy Excel,
there are several free or cheap spreadsheets available. If you have a fast
Internet connection, you might want to try OpenOffice. If not, 602Pro Suite is
pretty capable and a lot smaller. You'd have to save Works files in Excel or CSV
format in order for these other products to open them.
