Hi folks,

Trying to install Windows XP on a VIA-based motherboard with AMD Athlon
XP cpu. Problem is, it freezes right after it boots off the cd and
displays that 1 line "setup is detecting hardware". Any ideas?

I disabled just about everything in the BIOS. Do I have to format the
hard drives first as FAT[32] or NTFS?

I am currently running Fedora 10 Linux.

Is the BIOS seeing the hard drive(s)?

Hope this helps.

There is some H/W conflict

remove all non-essential cards and try again

Talked to my motherboard manufacturer today and the support guy says its
probably faulty memory (RAM). I have two 512 MB sticks in. I am going to
remove one of them and see if anything changes.
