Excel Freeze panes in Excel

Hi All
I can freeze panes while in files but I lose them each time I close the then re-open the file again. This happens on all my files and I have never had this situation before. I am assuming I must have something set up wrong in settings but have looked and can't see, any ideas?

Which app are you having problems with? You've posted in the MS Office category, but which particular app does this relate to (Excel, Outlook, etc...)?

Can you tell I am a newby to this? Yes I had that as an after thought, it is excel, I hope you can help as it is annoying me?
 
I've updated the thread title for you to include Excel in the title. I'm not sure how to fix this myself, but hopefully someone with more Excel knowledge will spot it now :).
