Sorry if this has been discussed recently, I tried a google search in this
group with no luck.

I have a PC which freezes on a certain point at startup. It freezes at the
"vendor screen" for want of a better description. You know how PC vendors
have their logo and name come up on startup...tiny ot time computers or
whatever. I have tried getting into BIOS and into the startup menu with no
result. It has been suggested to me that the hard drive is buggered. I have
checked all wires, etc, and they are all kosher.

TIA for any help.

Cheers

Pull your hard drive out and check to see that the jumpers are in either in
the Master configuration, or the Cable Select configuration. If they are on
master then try setting the jumpers to cable select. If they are set to
Cable Select then try setting them to Master.

Did it always do this?...or is this a new build/machine?

What operating system?

If you built the machine, what hard drive do you have on the
machine?...and which pins do you have jumpered?

Remember to honor our troops...past and present.

And have a nice Memorial Day weekend.
