I have a big problem. I installed a new dell optiplex gx260 in our school
library and as of this morning it freezes when it is turned on. We are
running win2000 on it. All of the updates are installed and the machine was
pre-loaded with win2000, it is not an upgrade.

We can not get into the machine setup since the keyboard is not working at
the point that it freezes. Each power on ends with the dell logon on the
screen and the power on bar approx 1/4 done.

All the wires are firmly in their place and there are no loose cards or
connections inside the case. These are relatively new, they were bought
earlier this year, so a harddrive meltdown seems unlikely. Has anyone had
this problem or heard of this? And what was done to solve it short of
calling Dell (which we may end up doing once school starts again)?

Now now, don't all answer at once. There is only so much room in my inbox.

Help, anyone?
