Hi all,
I'm looking for a freeware utility to extract and save HDD CPU serial
numbers for inventory, any hint ?

Thank you,
Giacomo.

If all of these machines are running windows, it would not be difficult
to write a script that would scan the machine, grab those numbers, and
concatenate them to a file.

As for knowing about an application that actually does this--I don't
know of any. Sorry.

I'll retreat a little on this. Having now written the code, I see that
I'm not getting serial numbers for some drives. I have three drives in
my test system, two of which are of identical make and model. One
provides a serial number, but the other does not.

You might want to try System Information for Windows (SIW) and see if it
meets your needs.

It can be found at the author's web page www.gtopala.com.
