Freeware to remove hiss

Hi

I am looking for a freeware program to remove hiss, noise, etc. recorded
on harddrive in mp3 format, that has been from recorded tape.

I use Messer to record and MP3directcut to seperarate.

I have searched google came up with AV music morpher but it is
crippleware. Any suggestions are very much appreciated.

I think Audacity can do some of that, never used the
feature my self, but have look
