Hi,

I want to get a used Hauupage TV tuner off of EBAY. Is there any
windows based freeware to record television shows so I can watch them
later from the computer or burn them to vcds?

Thanks for any information . ..

The cards come with software to do this, but even if you buy a used one
that doesn't, you cna download for free the software from the
manufacturer's website:

Excellent suggestion, for drivers and viewing software.
I would also suggest in addition to the above:

MsDVR 2000 (Freeware Digital VCR for TV Cards)
http://www.maksil.com/

My daughter has been using this now since September at University to
record and schedule her anime's and to record Angel and other shows then
burn them to cd for later viewing, hehe shes already thrown out 3 cd's
because of how much she watches the burned episodes that she was sick of
them.

This looks very interesting. They also have a video player program
and a Yahoo Program Guide utility that works with this.

Only thing to remember is it works with Windows Media Encoder 7.1, not
9. Supposedly using this, you can record two hours of video on a
single CD.
