Just got a dvd burner. Can anybody recommend freeware to help me
backup my movies? I only want to backup movies that I own, and only
one backup of each, strictly for my personal use, I am not
distributing.

Windows or Linux solution is fine.

Thanx.

| Thanks for that link. In case anybody is interested, the only freeware
| product that I could find for backing up dvd's is called:
| "DVD-Shrink."

It depends on how much you want to back up. I only back up the main movie,
no frills. I'd recommend you use DVD Decrypter (free) to rip it and
DVD-Shrink back it up.

Actually, DVD Shrink acts as a ripper, so you don't really need to go
through the extra step of ripping your movie with DVD Decrypter before
shrinking it. The one program does it all.

And most of the latest versions of DVDShrink will use Nero (if installed) to
write the movie to a blank DVD disk.

The truth is out there. You just have to look in the right places and ask
the right questions.
