Freeware program to test pages in different browsers?

Hi,

This is probably a naive question but are there any freeware programs
which simulate different browsers so that web pages can be tested in
them?

I've got Opera & IE6 but I had problems installing Netscape (although
that was a while ago).

Thanks in advance,

Jorolat

Hi

You might want to ask in one of the html groups also.
alt.html.*

Wish I could answer your question but I don't have a clue.
You could also search the usenet archives if you haven't already.

Good luck. :)

It depends on which html editor you're using. If you're using
DreamWeaver or Ace, you can configure multiple browsers for previewing
web pages within the editor. I'm not sure about FrontPage though.

extremely good reason that I'm broke :)

If it look good in Opera it should look good in the other ones, the Opera creators says it
follows the htmlstandard striktly.

There so many percent who use Internet Explorer so have to try in it too.

You can also upload your htmlfiles to your server and visit http://www.w3.org/ and click
the htmlvalidator ( http://validator.w3.org/ ) and type in the url and see if it complains
about something.

You can also visit http://www.htmlgoodies.com/ if you need help with coding directly in
html also includes more advanced coding.

Thanks for the info on Opera Mårten - and the html validator should be
particularly useful!

I don't know if I turned you on to alt.html, in here[1], or if you got
there on your own, but I'm pleased that you connected over there. I'm
awed by the breadth of knowledge that group represents. Listen, and
you *will* learn. That validator is your friend -- get to know it.

And best wishes for your new venture, John. And enjoy the trip!

[1]I do that, where it seems relevant. :)

I can't find the actual post but I got to alt.html via someone's
advice and I certainly recognize you name - thanks Blinky!
