Freeware Photo recovery program for CF card

My grand-daughter was in Florida six weeks and took many photos
with her digital camera. She connected the camera to notebook and
looked at pictures, but must have forgotten to save them. She must
have formatted CF card and not has no photos. Is there a free program
to recover them from CF card

PC Inspector File Recovery has saved my bacon on a few occasions.
