Freeware Mailing list software recommendations

I need to set up two mailing lists (for different purposes) and am
looking for freeware (or v cheap) software to run them.

They both need to be put into hosted web space which I already
have.

At the Uni here we use Mailman - but I am not very enthusiastic
about it so would be grateful for other recommendations

DO you mean newsletters or mailing lists as the ASP world seems
to define both as the same?

I have not managed to find any mailing list software for ASP...
listserv would work if you can run it... otherwise people will
just have to log in to use a forum on an asp web portal. But
that is not 'pushy' enough for many situations. ;-)

Definitely mailing list - not newsletters

Listserv - yes I had forgotten that one - it might be just right
for the job..

There is a free listserv lite...
Let me know if you do come up with anything else. I would love
an asp(net) solution. I have been searching for weeks, but
Google is no help, because it only brings up newsletter software
when you search: mailing list manager asp etc.
