Net Transport, one of the fastest and most powerful downloading tools
that is ever made available online for free access and distribution,
now features unprecedented full support of the most prevalent Internet
protocols, including:
HTTP / HTTPS
FTP / through SSL (Secure Sockets Layer)
MMS (Microsoft Media Services)
RTSP (Real-Time Streaming Protocol)
PNM (rename PNM to RTSP)

Streambox ripper, have not used it but leo recommends it.

How can I avoid that Net Transport automatically starts when, in Internet
Explorer, I click on a download link? I want to download as I do before
install Net Transport and open Net Transport only when I want. May you help
me?

Thanks.

I reply to myself!
Only right click in the Net Transport systray icon and uncheck ''Intercept
click in the browser''.
