Specifically, I'm looking for a program that will enable me to protect
certain cookies from being deleted (google toolbar setting cookie, My Yahoo
cookie, etc). Does it exist? Thanks.
Another vote for Analogx CookieWall

Online privacy is a big deal these days, with huge companies being
formed every month to both protect and exploit information gathered
about you. By far the most common method used to track individuals on
the Internet is the 'Cookie', a small file stored on your machine with
information provided by a website... While the majority of the
websites out there use this tool as it was intended, more and more are
exploiting it in ways that were never
intended - that's where AnalogX CookieWall comes in.AnalogX CookieWall
allows you to quickly and easily decide which cookies can stay on your
system, and which cookies should go - once you let CookieWall know
which ones are unwelcome, it does the rest. CookieWall can be
configured
to delete cookies as soon as they arrive, to notify you of any new
ones, or just queue them up for you to check out at a later date.
CookieWall is currently only compatible with Microsoft Internet
Explorer or derived versions (such as NeoPlanet); Netscape support
should be available in the near future.
I use CookieWall in conjunction with my spyfile programs .
This is how it works .
Cookies come into the centre panel of CookieWall .
I run my spyfile cleaners and they tell me the badies ( don't delete
until you have all the info & finished below )
Go to Windows Explorer & locate Cookies , if more info is needed .
I then use <<< to move them to the left hand side panel .
The balance of the cookies left in the middle , if you are 100% sure ,
they are good or you will need them in the future ( such as this
forum's cookie ) use the >>> to move them to the right hand panel .
Any cookies left in the centre panel , that you are not sure of ,
click > Delete all new cookies from disk .
Setup .
Two ways , Start > All Programs > AnalogX , open CookieWall .
This will put it next to the time , right click on it & select >
Configure
Make Auto start > Enabled & Monitor IE > Enabled .
New cookie action > None & Scan for cookies every > 60 seconds .
On reboot you will have the logo down next to the Time .
To make changes , right click on it & select Add/Delete .
Or ,
Open your Windows Explorer ( not Internet Exploer ) , go down to where
you install your programs .
Open AnalogX , double click the yellow logo Cookie.exe , this will put
it next to the time , right click on it & select Configure .
Now follow above instructions .
