Will likely use Epox mb with AMD. Somebody last year mentioned that
64-bit and multi-core boards offer less security and copy freedom than
earlier Athlon bds. Is this true? Want good Java reliability for setting
up a Freenet node so maybe Solaris...what's a good OS choice for a
box-builder who has no command-line skills? (don't strain my brain by
suggesting I learn more). I want a BIOS with lots of flexibility and
settings. Anything come to mind?

As it stands, I'm thinking newer 32-bit Athlon, matched-brand
chipsets/vid card, late-model *Epox made for the Athlon, maybe open
chassis or 2 big honking fans and some fast trouble-free memory. RFI a
prob w/open chassis??

*The Epox site is up and running but, oddly, requires a login to pull
files off ftp. ???

I wasn't aware that Epox was making motherboards anymore. Try gigabyte
instead, perhaps? -Dave

As H.A.L. said to the guy, Thank You, Dave. I thought Gigabyte was now
connected with ASUS and some of the guys here trashed ASUS. Any thoughts
